Hello!
It’s time for another dose of valuable advice from our REVUELE skincare Experts. Have you ever considered that it is not always enough to use good and suitable products for your skin?
You need to know how and when to use them, but also follow some simple rules to avoid mistakes in your skincare routine. In this way, the care and attention you take for yourself will give quick results. What’s better than that?
#1 Your skin is not your enemy
We know that sometimes the skin doesn’t look the way you want it to. Unconsciously or not, we begin to look at it as our enemy. This is so wrong!
Often, in our quest to have perfect skin, we resort to squeezing pimples, using strong products, and even aggressive exfoliation, and all this is very harmful to it.
It is a part of you and you must learn to love it and understand its needs. Surely many of you have seen pictures of models and celebrities and admired their perfect skin. Remember that this is real life here and no one is perfect!
Of course, this does not mean that with proper care you will not enjoy healthy and young skin for a long time.
#2 Cleansing, cleansing and again – cleansing
Cleaning is the first and main step. We know we are not saying it for the first time, but it will not be the last. If you don`t clean your skin perfectly and regularly, then whatever you do after that, there will be no effect.
Removing makeup is very important, especially at the end of the day, but even if you haven’t worn makeup, it doesn’t mean your skin is clean. We live in a fast-paced world, which unfortunately is not very clean, especially when it comes to the urban environment.
Cleansing with a gentle cleanser in the morning after sleep will remove the accumulated excess sebum and prepare the skin for the next steps.
The night before bed, cleansing your face should be a habit just like brushing your teeth. Sounds really easy, but it’s very important!
#3 Over exfoliation is always a bad idea
Exfoliating the skin is beneficial as it removes dead skin cells and promotes the renewal process. Very often, in our quest to have perfect and smooth skin, we overdo the exfoliation. This is very wrong, as it can lead to the production of excess sebum, skin irritation, and even hypersensitivity.
Whether you use physical scrubs or AHA and BHA acids, you need to give your skin time to see how it reacts. Proper use of this type of product can become the best for your skin! In general, the golden rule for the use of exfoliators is no more than 2 times a week. Of course, there are exceptions, especially when active ingredients are used for this purpose.
Our advice is, when you are unsure how to use the product, always refer to the directions on the packaging, and consult with a specialist if you need to.
#4 Do not introduce several new products at once
Yes, it is always exciting to take a new skin product and try it. It is important not to introduce several new products into your daily skincare. If you get skin irritation and have used more than one new, you can’t be sure exactly where the problem came from.
What we would advise you is to introduce one new product per week.
Something that would protect you from unwanted side effects caused by new products is to do a sensitivity test on a small area of skin before first use. The most suitable area for this is the bend of the elbow, like the skin, where it is closest to that of the face.
#5 Less sometimes is more
One common mistake when it comes to skincare is to use too many products. It is a mistake to think that the more products you use, the better the effect. This can lead to a high concentration of any of the ingredients and cause redness and irritation.
We would recommend that you stick to a simple routine and avoid using products at once that you are not sure how they would interact. There is no secret or rule that applies to everyone. Both we and our skin are different and need different care.
If you are “new in skincare”, you will never go wrong if you stick to cleansing, hydration, and sun protection during the day.
We all want results right away, but that’s impossible, we’re still talking about skincare, not magic! Wait and be patient, it takes time. Listen to your skin, take good care of it and it will surely thank you!
See you soon, in the next portion of beauty!
