Hello!
Skin that is prone to acne and clogged pores needs special and careful care. Of course, the best thing you can do is seek help from a dermatologist. We would always direct you to this step first.
We have mentioned before how good it is to establish a skincare routine and stick to it. It is not necessary to include many products – you need a good cleansing, moisturizing and protecting your skin barrier. Find the ones that work best for you and use them regularly.
Besides the skincare products, there are some very simple rules that you can follow every day and make your skin look better and healthier.
# Cleanse gently
Very often people with problem skin are looking for aggressive and too drying cleansing products. We agree that it is good and even necessary to perform deep cleansing, but this is not appropriate every day.
Choose delicate and gentle products that will not disturb the natural balance. Rough and aggressive facial scrubs are completely inappropriate when it comes to red and irritated skin. Instead of helping yourself, you can easily injure pimples that have already appeared and worsen the condition.
In addition to cleansing with cleansing gel or foam, you can include the use of AHA acids. They work extremely well by removing the top layer of dead skin, unclogging the pores and helping to even out the texture.
If you have not yet tried acids in your skincare – do not wait any longer!
# Drink enough water
Water, water, and again water! First, we must clarify that there is no other drink that can replace pure water. Whether you drink tea, freshly squeezed fruit juice, or vegetable smoothie – all this is great, but to be healthy you need to drink at least 2 liters of water every day!
It is good for your whole body and it needs water to function properly. Drinking enough water will also hydrate your skin, so it will produce less sebum, which will reduce the likelihood of acne.
# Moisturize every day
Very often people with acne-prone and oily skin do not use moisturizing products. This is one of the main mistakes!
When it produces too much sebum, it means that it is dehydrated and trying to repair itself. Did you know that your skin is so smart? Of course, excess oil is not pleasant at all, because it can lead to clogging of the pores and cause inflammation.
For this reason, you should use a light moisturizer every day, which will balance the production of sebum and nourish. Choose the right one, use it regularly and you will see the change very quickly!
# Don’t squeeze
We totally understand the temptation to try to eliminate the pimple once and for all. Unfortunately, what happens is often quite the opposite. When squeezed (not by a professional at the derm’s office that is), the area gets easily inflamed – not only the pimple itself but also the skin around it. This can cause increased photosensitivity so that the UV light would probably harm it, leaving a pigment spot that is much harder to get rid of.
If a pimple does appear, use topical care to reduce redness and dry it out. The active ingredients will act all the time in the right place and will help the skin to recover faster.
# Get enough sleep
This advice probably surprised you a lot. We will try to explain why good sleep is important for our skin. Our body recovers during sleep, and this not only gives us energy for the new day, but also helps some biological processes. Even though we sleep, our body works a lot!
During our sleep, our skin regenerates, as it could not do while we are awake. For this reason, it is very important to provide the necessary healthy sleep, which lasts at least 8 hours.
# Bonus
Do not forget to regularly change the pillowcase on which you sleep, it sticks to sebum, products that we put in the evening, dust, etc. All of this can lead to skin contamination. Also, clean your phone thoroughly as it constantly touches your face. Although it is more than clear, we add that you do not touch your face unnecessarily with your hands.
We hope that these tricks will be interesting and useful for you. See you soon, in the next dose of beauty!
